Birthday/Christmas/Snow

WARNING.....major picture overload ahead!! Read at your own risk!! With the hustle and bustle of all the holidays, flu bugs and rescue missions tonight was the first chance I've really had to sit down and share a little on Landon's 4th birthday, Christmas and a couple of other things.

Usually for Landon's birthday we have a party. This year we decided to nix the party and just have pizza and cake on his birthday since it was on a Tuesday and then on Friday take the boys to French Lick to the water park. The water park was great!! A majority of the day we were the only 4 people there!! We got there around noon and had to drag the boys out around 7 to head home.

This little water park that French Lick has is just the cutest place!!! We've been a couple of times and my boys just love it!! Landon is a little scared of the water....but not Grant!! There were a couple of times I caught him slurping water off the floor.....GROSS!!!

Break Time!!

Christmas is usually always very chaotic for us. Seems like there are so many places to go and so little time!!! This year seemed different. I didn't feel as rushed as what we usually do. We spent all day on Christmas Eve just hanging out with my family!! And that night we spent hanging out with Ryans family at his grandma's house. Christmas morning the boys opened gifts and then we spent the whole day just hanging out at home playing with toys, eating and napping!! And last but not least Christmas night we headed to Ryans parents house for Christmas. And how could I forget.....I'm sure I watched 20 hrs of the 24 hr A Christmas Story marathon....LOVE THAT MOVIE!!

This next picture cracks me up.....I actually forgot to take a picture of my boys on Christmas morning in front of the Christmas tree....so a hair cut and a couple of days later the boys put their pj's back on and sat in front of the tree so their crazy mom could get a Christmas picture. As you can see from the facial expressions Landon is NOT into this picture thing at all!!!!! On a side note....my tree was so pitiful this year. When we moved into our new house I seemed to have misplaced my Christmas decorations. So the only thing we had on our tree this year was lights. Very sad:(

This next picture is the only picture I captured on New Years day. We did our usual of heading to Evansville to my cousins house to for some good conversation...and of course.....some awesome food!!!!! The only picture I got was Landon drinking a cup of Joe on New Years morning...rough night I guess....and no I usually don't let my kid drink coffee....but he stole it from me and I was really tired and just really didn't care.

Landon LOVED the snow we got. Of course it was freezing and he usually didn't make it outside for longer than 10 minutes....but we did have fun being snow bunnies for a little bit!!

The Rescue Mission

I can NOT believe I am going to blog this.....but I print all my posts out because one of these days when my boys are older they will be able to go back and read them and hopefully laugh....maybe cry....or most likely be embarrassed because their mean ole mom really posted this stuff on the Internet for the whole entire world to read!!! So here goes....I've had the flu since Sunday night. So around our house pretty much anything goes....I just don't care right now. Well yesterday evening I was sitting in the recliner and Landon and Grant were playing in Landon's room.....Landon had shut the door so I could NOT hear a thing. They hadn't been in Landon's room probably 10 minutes and Landon comes to me and very hesitantly tells me we need to go on a rescue mission.....I said ok....what are we gonna rescue....Landon says....probably Grant....he just fell out the bedroom window. From there on it was pretty much a blur...I ran to Landon's window and seen my poor baby laying face down in the sloppy mud screaming.....not to mention it was sleeting...ohhhh and maybe I should...or should NOT mention...he was only in a diaper and a long sleeve t-shirt. So out the door I dashed to get my cold, screaming, muddy baby!! Thank GOD the ground was wet....and muddy....if the ground would have been frozen I'm sure he would have broken something since it is like a five foot drop!! So back into the house we came.....soaked in mud....which was fine...I could have cared less about the mud....I just wanted Grant to be ok. After some major snuggling I put him in a warm bath to unthaw and in a matter of minutes the shock wore off and he was his same old self....happy....splashing and thank GOD no broken bones or serious injuries!!!! As for Landon....I have NO CLUE where he was the whole time I was outside getting Grant.....I think he was laying low....we did have a VERY serious talk last night about NOT opening windows!!!!!!!!!!! I still can't laugh about this!!! I laugh at what Landon said to me about going on a rescue mission.....but all I can see is my baby laying face down in the freezing cold mud. Maybe in a couple of weeks....or months after the new baby comes....and the hormones settle down....I can laugh....but not right now. I sobbed when I called Ryan and told him...I sobbed when I called my mom and told her....and I was still crying when I talked to my mom about it again this morning. I thanked God all last night that Grant was ok. And I've thanked him a million more times today!!!

Happy Birthday Landon Carter!!

Happy Birthday Landon Carter!!! I cannot believe you are 4 already!!!! You are one of the three apples of my eye. You constantly make me laugh and I can't imagine life without you!!!!!!!!!!

His birthday was actually yesterday!! No party this year......this past summer we went to French Lick to the water park and he loved it so instead of a big party we are gonna head to French Lick tomorrow night, spend the night and enjoy Friday at the water park. We did have pizza and cake at home last night and Landon enjoyed the grandparents dropping by showering him with gifts. His cousin Nellie brought him a beta fish for his birthday!! He was pretty excited about that. Aunt Kara told him the fish needed a bath....meaning it needed new water...well he took the bath thing seriously and asked me all night long if he could give Jamie....that's the fishes name....a bath!! Ryan says he gives this fish 3 days and he will be "gone."

I thought Santa wore black boots!!!

I thought Santa wore black boots.....not black penny loafers......that was my first thought....being obsessed with shoes....when Santa walked into my in laws house shortly after lunch.....but the kids didn't notice the shoes.....their eyes were glued to this man in a red suit with a BIG white beard. !!! The babies....as you can tell by their faces....weren't thrilled. Landon on the other hand....was loving it. My pictures were taken with my cell phone so they really aren't that great but enjoy!!!!

Better Late Than Never

Well, I guess you could say this post is better late than never. Grants Birthday was over a month ago and I never got to post pics on his big day because my computer ended up getting sick. So anyways I finally got it back and wanted to put up some pictures of my little mans 1st birthday party along with some other random stuff. Grants party was actually pretty pathetic....I hate to say that. I've always said whatever I have done for my first kid I will do for the second and so on...since Landon had a big party.....then Grant would have a big party. Well I ended up getting sick the day before his party so the party was pathetic. We had no decorations...I even forgot to video the party....did I mention it was kind of pathetic....just food....which is all that really matters to me anyways. I even had to send Ryan to the grocery store with a list of things to get for the party. In the 5 1/2 years we have been married I have never sent that man to the store....needless to say...I was a lil scared!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways...party is over...Grant will never even remember his 1st birthday.....I will try harder on his 2ND bday!!! I promise...hahahahaha!!!

Grant and Brody just cruisin

This has been so long ago I can't even remember for sure when it was. Anyways we went camping at Holiday World with my cousins Angie and Bruce and their kiddo's and did the trick or treating thing down there.

I have no clue who this is.....but I like his costume!!

Ok...and on to Halloween. My plan was for my kids to be curious George and the man in the yellow hat....Grant was the monkey....and Landon was gonna be the man in the yellow hat. Well Grant ended up getting sick that week so I wasn't sure if I was gonna even take him trick or treating and I hated to send Landon out as the man in the yellow hat....with no monkey. So on Friday night.....night before Halloween...we went to wally and Landon picked out new costume....not sure what it is....but it did the job. Grant ended up feeling better so he went as a monkey. Landon was so excited to go trick or treating. He woke up from his nap and told me how excited he was....so we get going.....EVERY house we went to he wanted to stay and play. I think it took us just under 3 hours to go to 6 houses.

All in all we are doing great. My pregnancy is going wonderfully. I don't even feel like I'm pregnant since I'm never sick or tired. This has by far been my best pregnancy. I go to the Dr in less than 3 weeks and we will find out what we are having. My feelings are still a boy. I did dream the other night that I went for my ultrasound to find out what I was having and Dr. F said he quit doing ultrasounds at 20 weeks...and that I would have to wait to find out what I was having....it was more like a nightmare than a dream....cuz everyone at Dr. F's office knows I am DYING to find out what I am having.

Landon is still rotten at times....and the sweetest little thing in the world at other times. I do have to tell a story on Landon. The other night....and it was way past his bedtime. He got mad at me and called me a big old fat thang. Normally he would have gotten in BIG trouble because fat is a bad word at our house...But I had to turn my head because I started laughing so hard and I didn't want him to see me laughing!!! Landon is still nuts about the combines and tractors. Once a week I have been letting him go with Ryan in the combine instead of going to the sitters...and let me tell ya...he thinks this is the greatest thing in the world. And Ryan says he does great.....there is even a little ledge behind Ryan's seat in the combine and he will lay back there and take a nap!!

Grant is growing up on me way to fast. He is walking all over the place like a pro!!!!! This kid is worse than his big brother when it comes to the combine or a tractor. If I drop Landon off to ride and he doesn't get to go...he cries and cries...he's so heartbroken. So....I've been letting Ryan put his car seat in the combine and he will ride for usually more than an hour. By the way...Landon hates when Grant goes....I guess he believes the combine is for him and his daddy and Grants not allowed!! It cracks me up because Grant can say Dada and mom....and get this....tractor....so basically besides mom and dad Grants first word was tractor!!!

Sorry this post is so long and rambly....Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!!

P.S. I am so very thankful to be pregnant this Thankgiving. This means I can wear panel maternity pants and eat all that I want!!! It will be so nice to not get in the car and have to unbutton/unzip my pants!!! LOVE those maternity stretch pants!!!

Happy Birthday Grant!!!

Happy 1st Birthday to my sweet baby boy!! I cannot believe how quickly this past year has come and gone!!! We have loved watching you grow into a little boy and look forward to the upcoming year to watch you become a big brother!!

A few things I want to remember.....especially after baby #3 comes and I completely lose my brain!!

-I didn't think you would walk before your 1st birthday....you proved me wrong little guy....just Tuesday you took off and are on the go!!!!

-You are a momma's boy....your favorite place is to be on my hip close to your momma!!

-You are very interested in your big brother and your big brother is ready for you to be a playmate!!

-You are a terrible eater....so different from Landon....ANYTHING that is put into your mouth....if you will even open it for me...is usually spit right back out. BUT somehow you manage to weigh 25 lbs 4 oz!!

-You still DO NOT sleep thru the night. At 10 weeks you started sleeping all night....then you quit....a friend encouraged me to do the cry it out...so I did....you started sleeping all night....then those pesky lil teeth started coming and now you usually get up once a night.
